Avatar Aang

Today I watched the new Avatar movie that came out just a few days ago.

I didn’t even know it had been released until today.

Avatar has always been one of my favorite shows.

I know people say it’s a kid’s show.

But I didn’t discover it as a kid.

I discovered it as an adult.

And somehow, it healed parts of my inner child I didn’t even know were still hurting.

I can’t really explain why.

Maybe that’s what good stories do.

They find places within us we forgot were there.

Aang has always been my favorite.

There’s something about the way he chooses kindness without giving up his strength.

The way he carries the weight of the world without letting it harden his heart.

The way he chooses peace, every single time, in a world of chaos.

So yes…

I cried.

More than once.

I felt something.

I was reminded that stories can still move me.

Even if they’re not real.

That healing can still find me in unexpected places.

As soon as the movie ended, I preordered another Aang Funko Pop from the movie.

Then I ordered another one I’d been missing.

Maybe that’s my way of holding onto the stories that helped shape me.

If I knew where to send this,

I think I would’ve told you about the movie.
